Ashmont Nursery School is hiring a part-time assistant for the coming school year. The Assistant will support ANS’s teaching staff by helping to set up classrooms, prepare and clean up from snacks, and other similar duties.  The ANS curriculum is centered around the needs and interests of each child and the group. We value each child and nurture her/his emotional, social, physical and intellectual development. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous early childhood experience and strong desire to learn more about play-based education.

School Philosophy

Ashmont Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian, cooperative preschool for children aged 22 months to 5 years (as of September 1st). It is located at One Ashmont Street in Dorchester — near Codman Square — and accessible by T (Ashmont Station). Facilities include a spacious indoor play area with a wide variety of materials and a fully equipped outdoor play yard. The school is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).


The school is a parent-run cooperative dedicated to fostering exploration, play, and the lifelong love of learning. Under the guidance and in partnership with our certified teachers, the parents form a community that encourageS caring for all of the children and families, a sharing of ideas, skills, concerns, and values.
